The story
Laurie and Antoine had a clear vision: a spread as generous as the Basque Country itself, in a setting that reflected their personalities. Maison Belzunce, a family estate nestled amongst the hills of the Basque coast, was the perfect setting. Banquet took care of the entire event: from the first appetiser to the final dessert, with a team of eight serving staff, bespoke table decorations and a braziere as the centrepiece of the evening.

An evening in three parts
What made this evening special was the fire pit: set up in the centre of the terrace at Maison Belzunce, it served both as a visual centrepiece and the main cooking method. Our teams carved and served the food straight from the fire, creating a live spectacle at the heart of the meal.
"We wanted our guests to enjoy a truly delicious meal – not a bland buffet, not a canteen-style meal dressed up to look fancy. Banquet understood that from the very first call. The brazier was the highlight of the evening that everyone is still talking about."
Laurie & Antoine
The entire menu was designed to reflect the Basque terroir — the cheeses came from a local affineur, the vegetables were sourced from local producers, and the bread was baked that very morning by our partner baker.

The ‘Élégance’ theme
For this wedding, the couple chose our ‘Élégance’ theme, featuring white porcelain, silverware and high-quality wine glasses. The décor was complemented by a partner florist, with bouquets of peonies and white ranunculus arranged along the estate’s untreated wooden tables. A deliberate contrast between the refinement of the tableware and the warm rusticity of the venue – exactly what the bride and groom had hoped for.
